Yes I promise, I will reuse my carrier bags!! I just have to remember to get them out of the boot when I arrive at Sainsbury's...
The lovely Tasha of WHAM-BAM asked me to take this pledge and I couldn't refuse, could I? Sorry it took a little while, I am a very slow reactor, everyone knows this by now...
So back to my pledge, I have the very stupid habit of leaving my reusable carrier bags either in the car or at home, I just can't help it! I have to think of so many things, like putting the children in the buggy or strapping them properly in their car seat, that honestly carrier bags are not my priorities. But I promise it will change, although I am sure you will all agree, children will remain absolute priority, unless very snotty or extremely painful...
So here is my pledge and you can see that Craig will make me sit next to my favourite food and won't let me eat it. This is plain torture and I am sure he will love it, watching me drooling over my favourite cake.
This is what you need to do:
- Visit http://www.recyclenow.com/ and sign up to one of the pledges to waste less.
- Share the details of your pledge on your own blog.
- Chose five other bloggers, who will also be up for a bit of recycling fun.
- Come back to this post at The Rubbish Diet and share your pledge with others, by placing a link to your pledge in the comments field.
- Optional - as a thank you to all involved The Rubbish Diet will be publishing a British Mummy Bloggers' Recycle Week carnival on Monday 29th June. To be included, simply submit your favourite post revealing the progress of your pledge by Saturday 27th June - email to karen[at]therubbishdiet[dot]co[dot]uk.
So here are the 5 people I am forwarding it to (apologies if you have already done it...)
Have fun and sorry it is a bit late...
It is a good idea - if we all did something I guess it could make a difference. I have umpteen reusable carrier bags in the pantry which need putting in the car and can I remember?
I was tagged by someone recently for this and really must get my skates on!

My problem is I usually leave those reusable bags in the laundry room!

Hell fire! You've got me caught here. I try really hard to recycle, have a plastics bin in the downstairs toilet (tasteful design!) & am pleased to report that my bin which is colleted fortnightly, is never quite full. Although why I bother, I don't know, as the neighbours just put their excess rubbish in it.... Most rude! I reuse my bags, but prefer to use the lovely fabric ones - do you think its an excuse for buying lovely bags???!
Will have a go - cheers!
Love Lydia xx

Anyway, I totally forgot...hmph! Hope you have better luck! x

Hi love the plastic bag pledge, particularly cos it took me so long to remember mine. I promise I don't have a cruel streak seeing other people going through the trauma :-D
So glad you could join in and hope you remember to stuff them in your pockets, handbag etc.. Good luck and please drop by to let me know how you get on. :-D

I try so hard with the bags, but always forget to take them in. thankfully our local supermarket also put boxes at the end of the tills like the 'good old days' so that's our safety net :)

Hi Brittany! Thanks for following and for the comment!
As for the recycling it is never too late... how about you go onto the website and pick your challenge? I am sure it is still available.
Don't forget to post it on your blog and to let Rubbish Diet know (links all included in this post) :)
I am coming to visit your blog now, see you in a minute :)
